Schmidt Hammer Rebound Tests
The test principle of Schmidt hammer tests is based on the fact that the rebound of an elastic mass is dependent on the resistance offered by the object against which an impact has been made.
The plunger of Schmidt hammer is pressed against the concrete surface and is then pressed. The spring controlled mass then strikes the surface of the concrete and rebounds. The rebound value depends on the hardness of the concrete surface. The rebound values are then correlated with the in-situ compressive strength of the tested area.
Reinforcement Bar Scanning Tests
Profometer/Rebar Scanner can detect the position and the depth of reinforcement bars. The sensor emits magnetic field to part of tested structure, at the same time, receives induced magnetic field produced by iron-like medium (rebar) in the scope of magnetic field and then convert it to electrical signals. The host analyzes digitalized signal timely and shows with various ways such as graphs, data and sound etc to identify rebar location, cover thickness and diameter.
